Audio–Video Synchronizer
A browser-based tool for lining up audio and video recordings on a shared timeline. Nudge the offset until sound and picture match, then export a synced MP4.
What it does
Behavior experiments often record sound and video on separate devices, so the two streams start at slightly different times or drift apart. The Audio–Video Synchronizer lets you fix that: load a video and an audio track, view them on a common timeline, and shift the offset until they line up, using visible events as alignment anchors. You can match the audio to the video length and export a single synced MP4 for downstream review. Everything runs in your browser; nothing is uploaded.
How to use it
- Click Launch Synchronizer and load your video and audio files.
- Play back and find a shared event visible in both streams (a clap, a tap, an onset) to use as an anchor.
- Adjust the sync offset until the audio and video events align; use Fit, Pan, and the zoom controls to inspect closely.
- Use Match Audio to Video Length to correct overall duration mismatches, and Apply the offset.
- Export MP4 with the current sync to get a single, aligned file.
