We are actively recruiting motivated researchers at all levels to join our team studying neural circuits and social behavior.
We welcome graduate students interested in neural circuits, sensory processing, and social behavior. We are currently taking rotation graduate students. Students can join the lab through the following VCU programs:
The primary portal for PhD students joining our lab. Apply through the VCU BSDP to rotate in neuroscience laboratories.
Visit BSDP PortalFor students with engineering backgrounds interested in neural engineering and neuroscience research.
Visit BME PhD ProgramFor physician-scientists pursuing both clinical training and doctoral research in neuroscience.
Visit MD-PhD ProgramWe also accept master's students through the Department of Anatomy and Neurobiology MS program.
Visit MS ProgramWe are interested in recruiting postdoctoral researchers with a systems neuroscience training background. Ideal candidates have experience in electrophysiology, imaging, optogenetics, or computational neuroscience.
We welcome undergraduate students who are interested in gaining hands-on laboratory research experience in neuroscience. This is a great opportunity to learn techniques and contribute to ongoing research projects.
If you are interested in any of the opportunities above, please reach out to Dr. Zhang at guangwei.zhang@vcuhealth.org with your CV and a brief description of your research interests.
