Analysis tab: builds the three pages of
“Fiber photometry pup approaching and investigation” — panels A–F — from the
selected video's own annotations and its own Fluorescence.csv. Panels B and C have one column per
behaviour: every bout of it aligned on its own onset (0 s), as a heat map (B) and as their mean ± SEM (C).
The grid under View sets, per behaviour, how many seconds before each onset and after each offset go into
the average; hatching in B marks cells with no data. Check the mouse label at the top: it is guessed from
the folder name, and sessions do get re-filed between mouse folders.
Statistics on panels C and D are the comparisons
you choose — nothing is annotated automatically. On panel C pick a behaviour and how many seconds
before and after its onset to average — both windows are measured from the onset, so the after
window may fall inside the bout, but a bout whose data stop short of it (at the bout's end plus its “after
offset” pad, or where the recording ends) is left out of that test — and press + Add; the test is
paired across that behaviour's bouts and
a bar over each window, in its column, carries the result. On panel D pick two of the four behaviours and
press + Add. Up to six per panel; the kept list under the controls shows each one with its colour and
result. Holm-correct adjusts across the comparisons you kept on that panel — the
asterisks then show the adjusted p. Each comparison follows the Stats dropdown, which pins one test family per
mouse so figures stay comparable. Your choices are saved beside the videos.
The automatic tests are still computed —
before/after nest entry, the four-phase within-time test, and panel D's omnibus with its post-hoc pairs. They are
printed in full in Stats .txt, each under a line saying it is not drawn on the figure. The first two use
each nest-entry trial on a warped behaviour axis (approach → investigation → retrieval → nest care);
Look-back sets how far before a nest entry their phase boundaries are looked for, and changes nothing on the
figure.
Workflow A (category first): Click any category button (Pup Retrieval, Nest-Based Care, Pup Approaching, Pup Investigation, Out of Nest), then press I to mark in, scrub, press O — auto-assigns.
Workflow B (mark first): Press I, scrub, press O, then pick from popup (or press 1–5 while marking).
Annotations auto-save to the video folder as individual JSON files.
ΔF/F plot: put a Fluorescence.csv (or <video>.csv, or precomputed <video>_dff.json) in the folder beside the video. The motion-corrected ΔF/F trace appears above the timeline, synced to playback. Press D to show/hide.
Export clips: click ✂ Export Clips in the toolbar to trim each annotation into its own MP4 with the ΔF/F trace and the behaviour labels rendered into the video, plus a per-clip ΔF/F .csv. Click a segment on the timeline first to export just that one, or type frame numbers / times in the dialog (e.g. 1234, 41.5s, 2:05-2:40) to join the segments at those points into one clip.
